Oslo City Centre Hotel

We booked the Oslo City Centre Hotel to be near the major sights in Oslo.  Located on Stortingsgata across the park from Karl Johans Gate, the Oslo hotel is close to everything.

After a 50 minute train ride from Gardermoen airport, we walked about 15 minutes to the hotel lobby.  The National Theatre stop would have put us 10 minutes closer.

The front desk was manned by one person, Tommy’ who efficiently took payment and sent us up the tiny lift to floor 4 of 6.

The rooms are pleasantly clean and tidy and the bathroom was large and clean as well.

Our internet malfunctioned and I didn’t get an answer from the front desk. When I went downstairs to check, Tommy was juggling phone calls and took a moment to let me know that the internet was due to be repaired in 15 minutes. Right on time, our online connection was repaired, strong, and very fast.

The room included breakfast. The buffet breakfast was excellent and included much more than the typical bread and fruit included from other hotels. Olso Center Hotel’s breakfast included well-cooked eggs, sausage, cheeses, and fruit juice, tea, and coffee — as much as you want. The dining area included a view of the park.

Street side rooms have a more interesting view of the park, but also pick up some street noise. Inner courtyard rooms are quieter with a less interesting view. Management was highly accommodating when a temporary problem required a room change.

Overall, we found ourselves missing the staff and management the instant we left, and we would definitely stay here again.
